DOG PARK RULES Please treat all park visitors, staff and property with respect. Courteous and respectful behavior is appreciated and expected. Small Dog Park Size Limit All dogs entering the small dog park must be 16 inches or less, measured from the ground to top of shoulder from the standing position. Additionally, dogs must weigh less than 35 pounds to enter the small dog park. The following rules apply to all City of Surprise Dog Parks: • Enter at your own risk. Dog owners must comply with all City park rules. • All dogs entering the dog park must be licensed, vaccinated and wear permit tags. • Dogs in heat are not permitted in dog park. • Dogs must be on a leash while entering and exiting the dog park. • Dog owners/handlers must always be in attendance with their dog and must carry a visible leash. • Dog owners/handlers are responsible for damage and/or injuries to a park, personal property or persons. Any digging/holes must be repaired immediately by owner/handlers. • Dog owners/handlers must clean up their dog waste and dispose of properly. • Aggressive dogs are not permitted; dogs must be removed at first sign of aggressive behavior. • Dog treats, food or alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the dog park. • No smoking/vaping in the dog park. • Dog owners/handlers must maintain control of their dog. • No more than three dogs per owner/handler shall be allowed in a dog park. • Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Please keep small children under close supervision. • Dog owners/handlers who fail to comply with above rules will be asked to leave or may be trespassed or cited.
